Damon Kizzee

Inglewood, California

HIS STORY

On August 19, 1974, the world was blessed with a beautiful baby boy by the name of Damon Le’jon Kizzee. He was the son of Paula Kizzee and Michael Whitmore. Damon aka Jon/Shawn, became the apple of everyone’s eye. He was the little brother and nephew for everyone connected to the Kizzee family.

Jon obtained his education from Hawthorne Christian School, Frisbee Middle School, and Dwight Eisenhower High School.

Jon accepted Christ at an early age under the direction of Rev. Fred Price (deceased).

Jon obtained his first employment at Hughes Market and he was so proud he was making his money. This was the beginning of his working career. Jon worked in a fast-food establishment, he was a vehicle transporter, he was a driver for a company which transported persons in need of medical assistance either to doctor’s appointment or placement in facilities. Jon was an employee/supervisor in loss prevention at a major retailer. Jon volunteered as a Police Cadet for the city of Inglewood. Jon also worked for McLane Trucking/Distribution. The dream of his was to become a big rig trucker and God fulfilled that dream. So, for the last 6 years, he conquered the road with the biggest smile ever.

During his vast employment ventures, Jon had 7 beautiful children. There were his 4 girls, Tishawna, Danielle, Dezirae, and Jasmine Kizzee, his queens, and there were his 3 sons, Damon Jr., Evian and Kalonnie Kizzee, his kings. His children were his world. He loved his children to his last breath, and they loved their dad. His 12 grandkids were even more special, and the boys were the image of him as a little boy. Paige, his niece always said, “Uncle is my best friend”. Jon was everyone’s best friend.

Jon was as kind as his smile and spirit. When he was not smiling you knew something was wrong. When his Uncle Bert passed, he left Las Vegas to move in with his Aunt Pam as he said she did not need to be there alone in the house. Jon was a protector of all (not just his family, but everyone).

God took Jon’s hand and moved him to heaven on March 20, 2022, at 11:11 p.m. After being hospitalized for 2 months due to a stroke and his amazing recovery, he was transferred to a rehabilitation center with the task of being assisted to get his muscle mass back to improve his walking. The doctors, family and friends were in awe of his recovery. We know God played a major role. Physical therapy was beginning and was on the agenda, but God decided “He will walk with me”.

Damon/Jon/Shawn is home with the Lord, family, and friends. His grandmother (whom he called Mama) is so happy. He is safe and he is happy.
